SUMMARY:Dearly Departed: The Art of Mourning Past & Present
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition is in conjunction with the Falmouth Art Center.  Dearly Departed: The Art of Mourning Past & Present is open to the public from March 31 to April 24 in the Landrau-Partan Gallery at the Falmouth Art Center. The show features a collection of four pieces of silk embroidery by sixteen-year-old female Falmouth contemporaries made in the early 19th century make mourning. The pieces featured silk embroidery\, watercolor\, and often verre-eglomise (reverse glass painted frames). The imagery includes urns\, weeping willows\, and memorials that modern day culture is now associated with mourning. \nEvent is Sponsored by Oak Grove Cemetery Association of Falmouth\, Inc. \nThe Falmouth Art Center is open: \nMonday – Friday:  9am – 4pm\nSaturday:  10am – 2pm\nSunday:  1pm – 4pm
