October 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th\, & 31st\, at 3pm \nAs Halloween approaches\, spirits come out of the shadows\, eager to have their stories told. Now is the perfect time to visit them on their home turf. Join us for an enhanced Halloween version of our popular tour of Falmouth’s Old Burying Ground\, where we’ll explore the gravesites of fascinating characters resting in the town’s oldest cemetery. In honor of the season\, we’ll also delve into spine-tingling tales of alleged witches\, demons\, murder\, and monsters—all grounded in actual local history from our archives with a Falmouth twist. \nFalmouth has a spooky side—come and see it for yourself! Whether you’ve joined us before or this is your first time\, you haven’t experienced a tour like this. \nParking: Please park in the lot at 157 Locust Street (bike path parking lot). Use the crosswalk to cross Locust St. and head toward the large boulder of the Mariners’ Memorial. Opposite the Memorial\, across Mill Rd.\, join your tour guide at the top of Cemetery Lane. \nRecommended for ages 13+ and those who can navigate uneven terrain. \nMeeting Point: The Old Burying Ground tour begins at the top of Cemetery Lane. DESCRIPTION:Sins\, Sips\, and Secrets \nThursday\, October 15th\, 22nd\, & 29th\, 2026\, at 6pm \nThis October we invite you to join us for a night at the Museum. On an interactive tour\, participants will visit the 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House to hear a different story in each room of Falmouth’s nefarious and unearthly past.  Using first person accounts\, diaries\, and newspaper records\, you will hear things about the actual fears about the night\, wayward travelers\, and spirits in times past. \nDuring the event\, drinks and appetizers will be available from 5:30pm\, come enjoy libations before or after your tour and stroll our grounds\, which will be lit by candlelight for the event. \nThis is not a drop in event. Tour time is 6pm\, you’re welcome to come before your tour time to enjoy a drink and please arrive in time for the tour. DESCRIPTION:        \n \nMuseum Lecture and Live Demonstration: Calligraphy\, Community\, and the Declarations of Falmouth \nIn this colorful presentation\, former White House chief calligrapher\, Rick Paulus\, takes you on a unique journey into the worlds of international diplomacy\, White House entertaining and adventure on the high seas. Using his calligraphy as the backdrop\, Rick shares personal vignettes from working at the highest levels of government as a calligrapher\, calligraphy’s role in diplomacy\, and many insights into the operations of the White House Social Office. He will be incorporating some of the Historical Society’s archive pieces to show how calligraphy was used in Falmouth for proclamations and special civic events. In 2006\, Rick took a bold leap by leaving his coveted position in Washington to explore new adventures and art. It is here that Rick confronts his most difficult and most rewarding assignments; finding a voice for his work\, merging life into art and art into life\, and continuing to strive to achieve the technical skills required to speak fluently from the hand. After you shop for wreaths and explore our gift shop\, take a moment to step inside\, warm up\, and enjoy our exhibition on Falmouth during the Revolution. There are seats and tables available.\n\n\nOpen 8:30am – 4pm on Saturday\, December 5th – see you then!\n\n\nWith chilly temperatures expected\, it’s the perfect respite for you and your fellow merry-makers.
