DESCRIPTION:The Falmouth Historical Society and the Falmouth Garden Club are pleased to provide the opportunity to tour the spectacular gardens at the Museums on the Green this summer! Take a walking tour of each of the five gardens in this beautiful location led by Falmouth Garden Club members. \nTours on Tuesday or Saturday at 11am\, allowing time to visit the buildings. \nThe tour will last about 40 minutes. The dates are as follows: \nTuesday\, June 9th \nSaturday\, June 27th \nTuesday\, July 7th \nSaturday\, July 18th \nTuesday\, August 4th \nSaturday\, August 22nd \nTuesday\, September 8th \nSaturday\, September 19th \nTuesday\, October 6th \nSaturday\, October 10th \nTours meet at the Hallet Barn Visitors Center. Donations for the upkeep of the gardens would be greatly appreciated! \nJoin us for this delightful new program and learn about the gardens at the Falmouth Historical Society\, Museums on the Green! This free\, family-friendly event features food trucks\, live music\, historic lawn games\, hands-on crafts\, and complimentary admission to our historic properties and museums. \nEvents will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a reading of the Declaration of Independence\, followed by live patriotic music. Throughout the day\, visitors can enjoy Colonial‑era games\, crafts\, caricature artist renderings\, and a variety of offerings from local food trucks. The historic Wicks House will also be open for tours\, offering a glimpse into Falmouth’s rich past. Join us as we commemorate this special milestone in our town’s history with community\, creativity\, and celebration. \nRain or shine\, join us for an unforgettable community celebration of history\, heritage\, and fun. \nFalmouth’s Paul Revere Bell–Hear It Ring\, See His Signature: At 12noon on July 3\, come hear an extended celebratory ringing of the First Congregational Church’s bell\, made by patriot hero Paul Revere. The church doors will be open from 12noon to 1:00pm for a rare public viewing of the original 1796 receipt signed by Mr. Revere. Martin\, Ph.D. bio:\n\nDavid S. Martin\, Ph.D.\, is Professor/Dean Emeritus from Gallaudet University in Washington\, DC\, the world’s only university for deaf students. Previously a teacher\, school administrator\, and curriculum developer\, he holds a B.A. from Yale\, an Ed.M. from Harvard\, the Certificate of Advanced Study from Harvard\, and a Ph.D. from Boston College. \nIn retirement\, he is President of the Marstons Mills (Cape Cod) Historical Society\, Treasurer of the Yale Club of Cape Cod\, and active in the leadership of the Cape Cod Genealogical Society. He teaches part-time in the Master’s Program in Critical and Creative Thinking at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He and his wife Susan reside in Marstons Mills.
