Find out more »The Medical World of Dr. Francis Wicks of Falmouth
In honor of National Doctor’s Day, this talk offers an introduction to medical ideas and practices in late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Massachusetts, both among physicians like Francis Wicks, who lived and worked in Falmouth, as well as midwives, bonesetters, surgeons, and non-credentialed practitioners who made medicines at home. Town Green Scavenger Hunt: A Family Event
Saturday, April 15th at 10am Non-members: $5 per child, which includes the cost of supplies. Members’ children free. This event is geared to children ages 6-12. Tuesday, April 18th at 4pm $20 Non-Members/ $10 Members. Includes appetizers and wine. Limited capacity. In the rotunda of the Main Falmouth Library sits an elegant sculpture hidden in plain sight. Executed by world-renowned American-born sculptor Hiram Powers (1805-1873) the piece sits delighting the viewer in relative obscurity. Falmouth Museums on the Green’s Executive Director Rachel Lovett shares her research on Powers, his notable works, and how this elegant piece came into the collection of the Falmouth Library. Find out more »Saving the Land that Feeds Us: A Joint Event with Farming Falmouth & the Falmouth Historical Society
Thursday, April 27th 5:30pm to 7pm. $125 per person includes talk, drink and meal. The history of Falmouth is connected to the land. In this special joint program, participants will have an opportunity to go behind the scenes at view the Society’s special collection of farming implements and hear stories of Falmouth’s agricultural past. Whaling Wives of Falmouth

Nooks and Crannies Tour: The Hidden Spaces at the Museums on the Green

Kelly as he delves into the fascinating world of historic wallpapers. Special emphasis will be given to the wallpaper located in the 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House.
