Katharine Lee Bates Poetry Fest
August 12, 2022, is the 163rd birthday of Falmouth’s famous poet, Katharine Lee Bates, author of the patriotic poem “America the Beautiful.” On August 12, from 2-4 pm in the Cultural Center, the Falmouth Historical Society will hold its 23rd annual Katharine Lee Bates Poetry Fest. Local poets young and old will read samples of their work, and the winners in each division will be announced.
We invite all to participate in this annual celebration. Admission is free.
