Weddings and Celebrations at Falmouth Museums on the Green
Thank you for considering Falmouth Museums on the Green for your special celebration. Our historic two-acre campus, home to the 125-year-old Falmouth Historical Society and the oldest historical society on Cape Cod, offers a beautiful and unique setting in the heart of Falmouth Village. The property includes three museum buildings, five distinct garden spaces, two historic house museums, and our modern Cultural Center.
The Cultural Center currently features an exhibition on the American Revolution, and the central gallery space can accommodate ceremonies, intimate dinners, lectures, and gatherings of up to 65 guests. The room is 21.5 feet wide, 33.5 feet long, and 8.5 at lowest point for ceiling height and 11.5 at highest point We have two parking lots with space for approximately 50 cars, and parking is generally readily available. Please note that the museums are open to the public until 4 pm on Saturdays. Ceremonies may begin after this time; if you require an earlier schedule, we can often be flexible.
We host wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours both outdoors and in the Cultural Center. Ceremonies may take place in the gazebo or at another location on the grounds. Cocktail hours may be held inside or outdoors, and small tents are welcome with rental. The museum provides tables and chairs for indoor use, including six round tables, twelve six-foot rectangular tables, and sixty-five chairs. Outdoor furniture and any tenting would need to be rented.
Although we no longer accommodate full receptions with DJs due to neighborhood noise restrictions, string music is welcome. We also partner with the Cape Cod String Quartet for those interested in live music options.

The fee for a three-hour rental is $1500, with the option to add an additional hour for $500. A $500 security deposit is required and is refundable after the event. Event-day insurance is also required, which typically costs a few hundred dollars. If you plan to serve alcohol during your cocktail hour, you will need to hire a TIPS-certified bartender.
We look forward to helping you create a memorable and meaningful celebration at Museums on the Green. Please contact us with any questions or to check availability.
Ceremony Space & Grounds
The Museums on the Green is first and foremost a cultural and educational institution, with our historic grounds maintained as a pollinator garden to support local biodiversity. This means our lawns are intentionally more natural in appearance than a manicured country club setting.
Our venue remains one of the more affordable ceremony options in the area, offering a charming, historic setting in the heart of Falmouth.
The room is also ideal for conferences, business meetings, lectures, and retreats.

The serene setting, cleanliness, generous kitchen, and helpful team made the day go smoothly and our experience truly unforgettable. One of the best parts is the large deck and gardens, giving us peaceful surroundings to enjoy both indoors and outdoors.
