Katharine Lee Bates Walking Tour
To celebrate the birthday of Katharine Lee Bates, local historian Lenny Miele will lead a “Katharine Lee Bates Walking Tour” on Wednesday, August 12. As the author of “Voice of the Tide, the Cape Cod Years of Katharine Lee Bates,” he will discuss Katharine’s childhood years in Falmouth, share poems she wrote about her hometown, and explain the neighborhood sites related to the poet who wrote “America the Beautiful.” Participants will meet at 1:30pm in the Hallett Barn behind the Wicks House on the grounds of Falmouth Museums on the Green at 55-65 Palmer Avenue.
Tickets: $10 Members of Museums on the Green, $20 non-members, limited to 12 people. Registration required.
